Fatty Liver and Lipitor

I am a 65-year-old woman with type 2 diabetes, which I have kept pretty well-controlled. I also take Lipitor 40 mg/day. I read that Lipitor should not be taken by people with fatty liver disease. I also read that 50% to 70% of people with type 2 diabetes have fatty liver. Should I get off Lipitor?
